Have you ever tried a skin routine but your skin still is not as clear or as pimple free as you would like? Well, maybe you are not using the right skin care products that work for you. There are three top skin types, such as oily, dry, or a combination of both. First, I will discuss figuring out which skin type you are and then how to take care of it!

Which Skin Type are You?

Figuring out what kind of skin you have is easy, with this four-step process.  You will be able to tell if you have oily, dry, or a combination.

1.) Pay attention to how your skin feels

Someone with combination will feel oily on the forehead, nose, and chin, but dry everywhere on their face.

Someone with oily skin will feel greasy all over.

Lastly, someone with dry will feel tight and flaky all over.

               2.) Look at your pores

Combination pores will normally be big and clogged around the nose but almost invisible on the cheeks.

Oily pores will have big pores that are easily clogged from sweat, make-up, etc.

Dry pores are small and often tight feeling.

3.) After cleansing how does your skin feel

A combination will feel refreshed and oil-free around the nose but dry around the cheeks.

Oily will feel refreshed just for the moment then will feel oily again.

Dry will feel more dried out and irritated.

Lastly,

4.) How often do you moisturize

For combination, they feel the need to moisture but only in certain areas such as the cheeks.

Oily once will be just fine since the skin is naturally oily.

Dry will use moisturizer in the regular to avoid that dry feeling.

Now that you know what kind of skin you have, let's see what products will work best for you!

As a starter for all skin types, everyone should wash and cleanse their face day and night. As well as drink enough water and eat healthy for the best results.

A combination skin type should use a mild cleanser and moisture of around the frame of the face.

An oily type should use foaming liquid cleanser and minimum to no lotion.

A dry type should creams or lotion as a cleanser and moisturizer.

As for me, you can see I have combination skin of being oily while also dry. So products like shea butter work as a moisturizer and the charcoal acne cleanser works best for me. Now I hope these tips are helpful for you as they were for me. You can always try different lotions, soaps, even skin mask to see what will help with your skin, these are just some tips to get you started.
